Kiara Advani joins Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, to go on floors in October

Kiara Advani has been cast opposite Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film is the sequel to the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja. Filming of the sequel, directed by Anees Bazmee, will begin in October and it will hit screens in July next year.

Kiara, in a statement, said, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa was the first ever horror film that I watched. Being a huge fan of the first one, It's super exciting to get the opportunity to be a part of the franchise. It's my first time being directed by Anees sir and I'm looking forward to the experience. Kartik and I are working together for the first time, can't wait to begin this journey so we can bring the film to you soon!"

Kartik Aaryan recently took to social media to release the first look of the film. Clad in a saffron kurta pyjama with a trishul in his hand, Kartik is seen with his back facing the camera in one of the posters. Kartik wrote, "Ghostbuster is all set to enter Hare Ram Hare Ram Hare Krishna Hare Ram #Bhoolbhulaiyaa2."

Sharing another poster, he wrote, "Amije tomaaar shudho je tomaar .. (sic)"

The Pati Patni Aur Woh actor also shared a motion poster of the film featuring himself. Along with it, he wrote, "Teri Aankhein Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Baatein hai Bhool Bhulaiyaa. #BhoolBhulaiyaa2 (sic)"

It is speculated that Akshay Kumar may appear in a cameo in the new film. But nothing has been confirmed yet. In an interview earlier, Anees Bazmee said, "I think yeh thoda sa early ho jaayega mujhe yeh bolna because already hum log abhi work kar rahe hain and dekhiye kya hota hai. (I think it's too early for me to say anything about the rumour. We are still working on the script. Let's see). "

The 2007 film was helmed by Priyadarshan. Bhool Bhulaiyaa was an official remake of the Mohanlal and Shobana starrer 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2020.
